Volunteering at HorseSpeak is about showing up — with care, presence, and respect for the animals and the land.
Our volunteers help with daily ranch life and support the calm, steady environment that keeps this place safe — for people and for the herd.
Volunteer at HorseSpeak
DAILY RANCH CARE
Feeding the herd, refreshing water, cleaning stalls and pens, sweeping walkways — the steady work that keeps the ranch running.
What Volunteers Help With
ANIMAL CONNECTION & CARE
Grooming horses and other animals, offering calm companionship, and helping the herd feel safe and settled.
QUIET PRESENCE
Sitting with the animals, reading to them, spending time in stillness — the kind of gentle presence that means more than people expect.
RETREATS & WORKSHOP SUPPORT
Helping set up spaces, prepping materials, tidying, and supporting the calm flow of the day before and after groups arrive.
BEHIND-THE-SCENES HELP
Administrative support, organising supplies, special projects, and occasional event help — perfect for people who love making things smoother.
Volunteering here may be a good fit if you:
- Enjoy meaningful, hands-on work
- Are comfortable around animals (or open to learning slowly)
- Can follow guidance and safety protocols
- Value calm, respectful environments
- Are reliable and able to commit to agreed times
This may not be the right place if you’re looking for:
- Fast-paced volunteering
- Riding as the primary focus
- A drop-in or casual-only experience
We work intentionally — for safety, consistency, and care.
Who This Is For

– All volunteers must sign a Ranch Waiver
– Orientation is required before starting
– Tasks vary day to day
– Safety and respect always come first
This is a working ranch. Animals have boundaries. We’ll offer clear guidance and appreciate volunteers who are willing to listen and learn.
What to Expect
A Note on Safety & Care
At HorseSpeak, safety is woven into everything we do — for volunteers, visitors, and the animals who call this place home.
This is a trauma-informed, professionally guided environment, even when volunteering. Emotional and physical safety matter, and care is taken in how the work is approached each day.
The ranch is a working space, and the animals have clear boundaries of their own. We offer guidance and support, and ask that volunteers move with attention, respect, and care.

We’re a small team, so this may take a few days.
No rush. No pressure.
We’ll move at the right pace.
