Equine Sports Psychotherapy

It combines sports psychology—which focuses on motivation, focus, confidence, stress management, and performance enhancement—with the unique dynamics of horse–rider interaction. Because riding requires communication between two athletes (the human and the horse), equine sports psychology addresses both:
  • For the rider: managing anxiety, building confidence, staying mentally focused, overcoming fear after falls, and setting performance goals.
  • For the horse–rider team: improving communication, trust, and emotional regulation, since the horse responds to the rider’s mindset and body language.
